I
have now been writing them now for a year-and-a-half and reading them even
longer. I would love to hear what
appeals to you, the reader. I not only have this blog, but I write on Tapestry
and watch the number of
reads and wonder about these things. Other than liking a particular topic, what else appeals to you?
What do you see that makes you link and read an entire post,
not just go to the page and fail to READ MORE? Do any of the following draw you into the post?
A current
news story?
A blog about a celebrity?
A catchy title?
A Facebook link from a trusted friend?
A catchy title?
A Facebook link from a trusted friend?
A fun illustration in the first paragraph?
A humorous slant?
I'm sure I am leaving many reasons unsaid so think about your choices and let me know. I really, really want comments here or on my Facebook page.
I think what grabs my attention and makes me want to read it is how relevant the title/first paragraph is to my personal situation. Or in reality if it is on a Christian site, I generally read them all as life and time permit. On a secular site, I will read them if they grab my attention... Are controversial, are topics I am passionate (ok, I agree with your burdened) about (pro-life, the ssm debate, etc.).
ReplyDeleteP.S. I want to personally thank you for coming to and speaking at the woman's conference in Albany this past weekend. I feel blessed just having heard you. And have been madly re-evaluating my mission for The Lord ever since.
I so enjoyed my weekend in Albany. What a wonderful and sweet group you are! Thanks for poring your thoughts about blogs. I pray God continues to lead you to his plans and purpose for you.
